Scholarship History

Lebanon Youth Baseball’s Board of Directors took the initiative in late 2019 and established a yearly scholarship that would be available to past players of the league in their Senior year of high school for first year tuition at a university or trade school.  One to three scholarships of $2,500 are now awarded each year beginning in 2024 and are selected by a committee consisting of the board of directors and local community leaders.

The Board of Directors beginning in 2024 has renamed the scholarship as the LYBSA Dawson Scholarship in recognition of Karen and Fred Dawson who were instrumental in creating as well as donating to the scholarship program.

As Lebanon Youth Baseball and Lebanon Girls Softball have joined forces, the combined League, now Lebanon Youth Baseball and Softball Association, will be including softball players in the next couple of years to the scholarship program and application. Each year we look to continue to grow the number of candidates for the scholarship through various media outlets and local schools.

Through 2024 the Lebanon Youth Baseball organization will have awarded over $30,000 in scholarships to former players to help advance their education.
